Today we’ve got what can only be described as…a Daily Double.
Well, not really.
You could also call it a “synonym situation” — or just a synonym if you’re a straightforward kind of person.
The word in question? Remuneration.
Remuneration is money paid for work or service. Which means it’s just another word for one we use more commonly: Compensation.
The big difference is more geographical than anything.
“Remuneration” is more commonly used outside the U.S., whereas “Compensation” is typically the term Americans favor.
Despite where each word is used, they do have the same definition and can be used interchangeably.
